The Kabini region is famous for the large ivory carrying bulls that converge here during the winter and summer months. They form temporary associations with each other and also mingle freely with the family herds.

Because of the abundance of grass and water they are quite docile and one can get quite close to them, if approached with caution.

With the Kabini waters beginning to recede, these gentle giants are making their presence felt, a gentle reminder of the elephant congregations to come as the dry season approaches.
