The austere, grandiose site of Hampi was the capital city of the erstwhile 14th century Vijayanagara Empire, one of the greatest empires of Southern India. Once described as ‘the best provided city in the world’ the core urban centre of Hampi is spread over an area of 25 sqkm. The sophistication of the varied urban, royal and sacred systems is evident from the more than 1600 surviving remains that include forts, riverside features, royal and sacred complexes, temples et all. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historical site is accentuated by its location in the Tungabhadra basin in Central Karnataka. Hampi’s spectacular setting is dominated by the river, craggy hill ranges comprising of precariously placed huge granite boulders held together by a wish and a prayer.

Hampi is not just about history, this is a mythical land dominated by gods and demons. In the Ramayana, an Indian epic narrating the deeds and adventures of Rama, Hampi and its surrounding areas are identified with the kingdom of Kishkindha. This region was the realm of the Vanara (mythological half-man, half-monkey) brothers Vali and Sugriva and the birthplace of Hanuman, all of whom played a prominent role in the epic.

Hampi is also home to the Lambanis, a nomadic tribe believed to have their root in the Gor province of Afghanistan. Having a unique culture and language of their own, the Lambanis are well known for the intricately designed and crafted dresses worn by their women. The closest airport to Hampi is the Vidyanagar airport (VDY) which is just 30 Km (50-minute drive) from our property. We now have direct flights from Hyderabad & Bangalore to Vidyanagar Airport. The next option is Hubli airport (HBX) which is 180 Km (3 hours and-30-minute drive) from Evolve Back, Hampi. However, Hubli is a small airport with limited flight connectivity. You could also choose to fly to Bangalore airport (BLR) which is 368 Km (5-and-a-half-hour drive) from Evolve Back, Hampi.

Within 24 Hours to check in: Cancellation charges equal to 100% of the full booking amount.

Reconfirmation using the extended credits can be made for any date except during black-out dates. In the event of the guest being unable to use the extended credit voucher by 31.Mar.2024, the credit amount will be refunded by end of April 2024.
